Today we are experiencing an ice storm - freezing rain. When I got up at 6 am it was just starting to rain. By 7 it was coming down pretty good and when Buck went out at 7:30 our walk was a skating rink. We got a call that there were no church meetings today and so we are at home trying to find things to do. A perfect time to make a post here. I will add a few pictures -
Geese taking off from the field
Joseph's Creek -just below our house

Elder and Sister Christensen at our New Year's Eve Party.
Elder Christensen has ALS and they are going home February 6th. We will miss this great hero.
The oxen pulling their stick - getting a new yoke soon - this one is really starting to pinch and they are not impressed. They are growing so fast. I had someone on the wagon ride last week that had been neighbors to the farm where they were born and told us the story of how they came to be donated to Historical Nauvoo.
Getting the wagons and carriages ready for the Exodus Commemoration which will be held on February 2nd - this coming Saturday. The first Saints actually left on the 4th of February. The Exodus continued through September. Just a few days after the 19th of February the river froze solid and many were able to cross on the ice instead of relying on the river barges. Sometimes 300 wagons would be loaded and lined up waiting to cross the river. Between 11000 and 13000 people were part of the Exodus.
Elder Dahl in the Barn posing for this great picture. Elder Dahl is from Star Valley, Nevada and is a great missionary and friend.
And the best place to end for this entry - the temple - January 2013
